Derek Cook, Director of the Canadian Poverty Institute at Ambrose University, brings extensive experience in social policy and poverty reduction. Formerly with The City of Calgary, he spearheaded initiatives like the Living Wage policy and played a pivotal role in the development of the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) and Sustainable Environmental and Ethical Procurement Policy. Derek holds a graduate degree in Planning and a Certificate in Knowledge Mobilization from the University of Guelph, complemented by an undergraduate degree in Political Studies from McGill University. He is also a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
